Who watches the VIX and plays accordingly?

I was watching the VIX the other day and noticed it started creeping up. Then this morning, I woke up in the middle of the night, checked S&P futures and saw they were “green” at like 3am. I was like, nice... perfect setup for a red day. Quietly went back to sleep and woke up to watch it slowly decline into a red open. Exactly where I thought it would go. 🤷‍♂️ FYI I don't(NEVER) trade options because i already have a gambling addiction. So I buy shares and typically hold long term.
